Jade Miller, LPC
My Story
Jade Miller (she/her)
LPC

Jade works great with quirky, intuitive, artsy, or musical LGBTQIA+ teens and adults looking for a warm therapist who can help them work through trauma, increase self esteem, and find their creative and authentic self again. She offers a neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapy and provides an individualized approach to therapy and frequently incorporates IFS, EMDR, Expressive Arts, ACT, Mindfulness, and creativity. She is a licensed mental health therapist as well as a certified specialist in drug and alcohol, ADHD, and Autism.
Past Experience
Jade has been working as a therapist since 2020 working primarily with neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ youth and adults, with a mix of mental health and co-occurring substance use. Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked primarily in the arts. Her background includes serving as a brand advisor for Converse, cake decorating and starting her own cake decorating business, working in various school settings with different developmental age groups, and teaching, choreographing, and leading a dance program.
Identity and Intersectionality
Jade is LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, 2e, Taoist, and has a disability. After being diagnosed with a life threatening illness in her youth and being told that she would likely die, she learned firsthand that nothing in life is a guarantee and how to find gratitude and joy within herself and in the world around her, understanding that happiness isn’t conditional and is a choice that can be made at any moment, even in the most challenging times. This period of her life is part of what motivated her to go after her dreams, studying to become a therapist and traveling the world.
Speaking Engagements, Committees, and Research
Jade has a passion for helping advance the field of psychotherapy. She has spoken at several conferences, actively participates in training other therapists, and has served as a guest speaker in multiple university courses. She has served on several committees dedicated to making therapy more accessible and inclusive. She is starting the process of developing a new counseling theory drawing from a mix of Eastern and Western approaches focusing on creating balanced living.

"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it... Once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it"
